"Married?! No wonder!" Kamui.EXe says as she entered the Data stream with Tweaker.
They next appeared in the Chinese server. It was the nicer side of the server. She hoped that Ming will be on this side and not the side with the poverty.

Tweaker considered commenting on Harpo's past, but every comment he could think of fell under the category of "if you can't say anything good, don't say anything at all." So he didn't. Instead he pulled out his tricorder. The display showed millions of programs on this server. Finding Ming this way would be a nightmare, unless... "You two don't happen to have Ming's electronic signature, would you? A polygon from her shell, a subroutine left behind, anything?"

"Actually... I still have her permissions." I said as I handed Tweaker the permissions. "Maybe That will help." I looked over at Kamui. "I wasn't in my right mind at the time, ok? it's ancient history."

"Thanks, Harpo! That'll do nicely." Tweaker fed the permission into the tricorder and activated a filter. Immediately all the dots on the display faded but one. "There you are! Residential district, lower-class. Hour and a half walking time. Let's take a datastream, or a trolley or something."

"Okay... maybe we can catch a data stream... if we can find one." I looked around, then spotted a public data stream center. I walked over and punched in the code at one of the seven terminals. the data port flickered, then the data stream sprung to life. I looked back. "This should take us to the nearest port to her. shall we?" I motioned to the stream.

Tweaker smiled and stepped onto the pad. The stream flared, then the pad deactivated and began its short recharge cycle.

Lower class.... does that mean we're going....?
They reappeared in the lower-class residential sector.
Yup....
"Alright, so where is she?" Kamui.EXE asks.

"If I'm correct... that's her over there." I motioned to a female program in a small crowd, walking towards us through the crowd, but she seemed to be unaware of our presence.

Kamui.EXE strode up to Ming and began to speak with her.
"Nihao! How are you?" Kamui.EXE says.
Ming looked at Kamui.EXE and then she saw Harpo. Ming was a very beautiful program.
"You found some one else 'Arpo? I 'ope you're 'appy!" says Ming.
"Hold on just one nano here! Harpo's a friend of mine. That's all!" kamui.EXE says.
Ming paused.

Wierd. why do people keep saying that? I spoke up. "Hello to you, too, Ming. I see you remember me. This is Kamui, and this is Tweaker. we came to talk to you... no hostility intended."

Tweaker noticed several ICPs pushing their way through the crowd some distance away and nudged Harpo and Kamui. "Better make it quick, somebody's taken an interest," he said under his breath.

I wonder why the acting Kernal Kang-lin's ICPs are doing over here? Why is she so interested? Kamui.EXe thought.
"Uh.... maybe we had better take this somewhere else.... maybe some place IPC free?" Kamui.EXE says grabbing Ming's wrists.
Ming pulled her wrists away.
"No. I don't mind the ICP here. We say 'ere." says Ming.
Stubborn little brat!
"Fine. Your choice. Your the married one here," kamui.EXE says.
"Widowed. Chi.EXE has been derezzed," says Ming.

While Kamui (and maybe Tweaker) acted a bit taken aback by this, Ming said, "...of course it's no surprise to 'Arpo." I felt like shrinking into the pavement. "No need to bring that up, Ming. let's just get back on subject." I looked nervously over at the ICPs. They shouldn't remember me... should they? it was a different Kernal back then... at least I think.

Tweaker, Kamui, and Harpo grew more nervous as the ICPs approached. Thus far they had done nothing at all to provoke the system security, and yet still the ICPs approached. Just as Tweaker's fingers wandered to his disc, an ICP pulled out an LOL and fired. Tweaker instantly drew his disc, but then hesitated, reluctant to fire his Cluster disc in such a crowd. The moment of hesitation saved them all, as the LOL blast soared through the crowd to derez a virus peering out from behind a stall. Tweaker slowly replaced his disc. It's not always about us.

Kamui.EXE made a note about the ICPs here. The ICPs weren't as big or tall as they were on the other servers she's been to (With the exception of the Japanese servers). They had lighter armor and while they do use a variety of different subroutines, they were well known for their martial arts. They were quick and graceful.
The ICPs left Ming, Harpo, Tweaker and Kamui alone. Instead they spoke to eachother before leaving.
That was a close one....
